PEGASUS, an ETH focus project in collaboration with ARIS (ARIS – Akademische Raumfahrt Initiative Schweiz) designed, built, and tested a liquid/liquid rotating detonation rocket engine RDRE entirely by students, this project pushed the students through months of development, setbacks, and freezing nights on the test stand. Culminating in successful detonation and around 750N of thrust. It is the first time a RDRE has been build and tested entirely by students.

On this project our Bruno Berger acted as an advisor. The contract with ETH ended this year, so it might be the last project we are involved in. Nevertheless, the last years with the students of ETH/ARIS were extremely inspiring and cool! Next focus project MEDUSA takes it a step further: A regeneratively cooled liquid/liquid RDRE
